Genocide
Genocide is a small progrom for both Windows and UNIX (including Linux)
platforms. With this program it is possible to shutdown many computers at
the same time.
Once the program is started it both monitors the network -- for messages from other genocidic computters -- and the system events to capture a possible system shutdown. If Genocide receive a shutdown packet over the network, Genocide initiates a system shutdown. In the case that Genocide detects that the computer is being shutdown, a packet is sent over the network to take down all other genocidic computers.
Genocide makes use of the libGC library to sent and receive the shutdown packets over the network. Doing so allows for a highly configurable way to sent out the shutdown event. You can directly make use of any of the available DIOMs (by default the RDDP protocol DIOM is used.) Its even possible to configure a DIOM to control the electronics in the simulator, like turning off the projector, displays, or even the main power supply!
